I just figured i'd share a video from last night.

Ok ok so its been forever i know!

But to make up for it I'm adding a ton of pictures. So sit back and enjoy.

First thing.. we got there late at night

I got out on the lag camping a few weeks ago and tested out the bell tent with the stove in it for the first time overnight. It worked flawlessley... Markus and I had hoped to photograph a solar storm that was supposed to produce some rather intense Northern Lights. But that plan changed when the clouds moved in and what we saw of the lights was so faint it barely merited the cameras being taken out into the cold.

While we were inside in the toasty temperature of +15c while the winds howled outside at nearly -40c we played a game of Settlers of Catan

Aaron came along as well and here he is wrapped up for the cold night ahead ( the fire won't burn forever)

We have been out many time for rides over the last few weekends, heres the images

Well you might have figured out that these days I'm pretty interested in Time lapse Photography. this is my latest from today. I left the camera running, pointing out the back window while i went to work. After a mere 6 or so hours this short film was made.

1000 separate images playing on the movie at 15 pictures a second. Hope you like it.

Ok, Ok, I know its been forever since I've put something up here.....After Christmas i caught a bit of a cold and it has really kicked my butt these last few weeks so the camera has stayed in its case and i've been working on the indent on the couch with my rear...

A few nights ago i finally started to feel alright so i decided to shoot the Northern lights, Lucky for me they were really going.

so here ya go the results of being outside around midnight in -30c for two or three hours... Being that this is my first time-lapse in a while i'm a bit rusty at it... the vides will get better, I promise

After years of living up in the north as a photographer i have finally had the chance to put together my very first book. It has a large selection of shots from the surrounding area of Pangnirtung. All of my "Favs" made it in. It also has a bit of info about the area inserted throughout the book. feel free to have a look... and if ya want place an order.

well we got the decorations out this weekend. We usually like to wait for the Gray Cup weekend, but this year we just couldn't.
Also my new computer arrived on Friday ( now Nic and I both have shinny new laptops ).

So thats whats up!!!

We made a movie to celebrate the event... with help from the new computer and a few programs that i haven't used before it has a bit more sparkle than you are used to... It was a drag and drop template within the program, so this won't be the standard look of our movie. Just a special treat for you.

These are just a few shots of what seems to be Abigail and her newest favorite toy.
she has named it Pupu ( which isnt as bad a name as you first might think ) Pupu is actually Finnish for bunny. Marcus and Delia were over the other night as Abigail was dragging the bunny all over the place. As you may be very aware Marcus is Finnish and he instinctively called the bunny Pupu... Being My child is part parrot she right away picked up the word and now we have a bunny named Pupu... I guess the names not all bad.... Delia is french and Abigail has lots of stuffed seals.... better a bunny named Pupu than a seal named Phoque (pronounced f*ck) i guess.

Oh lastly i should mentioned we have been a pretty serious storm here now for a few days. Wind in town actually made it up to 122km, rumor has it that the storm hasnt quite finished, lots more snow and wind to come.

This year its quite obvious what we decided to do for Halloween. Currently Nicole is at the giant town party that goes on every year at the gym while i sit with the Abigail while she plays. Earlier this morning Abigail went down to the community center to enter in her costume category. We are happy to announce that she won first in her category... her first win Yahoo!!!! Anyways i wont go on and on as there really isnt anything to go on about, I'll just get right to the costume photographs that i took today of the two pirates. Nicole contest update.... We finished the day off with a first overall best costume for the community and second best celebrity impersonator ( Lady Gaga beat us out ) good day all round.... Davies costume clean sweep!!!

Nicole Went as the Great Captain Jack Sparrow. Of course for tonight she has learned the walk and his mannerisms so with any luck she will come home with a few awards of her own.
